I’m slightly late this week, apologies for that, but not to worry because some great music ahead… This weeks edition was definitely inspired by the latest Brownswood compilation titled “Brownswood Electric”. It’s deep, it’s electronic and it’s totally underground! The compilation features the likes of B.Bravo, Mount Kimbie and Pearson Sound (aka Ramadanman), includes some fresh faces as well… my favourites include tracks from KiEnRa, Hypno and Letherette! definitely a great buy… it’s all about connecting the dots between hiphop, house and dubstep with this one. So what else??? 4 hero on the remix, Havana Cultura style… a fantastic Roy Ayers cover by Seu Jorge, “Everybody Loves The Sunshine”, I thought this track was quite appropriate considering the great weather we are getting lately. Ilhan Ersahin, a name to watch out for… recently heard of him, Turkish saxophonist, born in Sweden, grew up in Turkey and currently living in New York… stumbled upon his Bosphorus EP, the “Doors to Heaven” track is sick! Also in this weeks podcast, new music from Seiji, Toddla T and a great Kode9 remix by Actress…
Oh by the way, if you like what hearing, come down to Gramaphone (Commerical Street, Shoreditch) this saturday… will be playing between 11 and 1… anything and everything, covering all angles, best of all worlds style… It’s going to be a good one. The night is hosted by the ever so great dj Soulprovyder, going on till the late hours of the morning.
