best of all worlds #16

Started this weeks edition with Ahmad Jamal… I recently got a hold of a 7 inch reissue featuring two fantastic tracks from The Awakening LP released in 1970 on Impulse records.  I can honestly say, I’m deeply in love with the track titled “I Love Music”.   It’s Zen music to my ears!  I played the whole 7 minutes without any interruptions so that you can fully appreciate this beautiful piece of music…  oh by the way, check out the following video featuring Nas, track titled, “The World Is Yours”, Pete Rock on the production… a big tune from 94.  I’m sure you will recognize the sample.

Also in this weeks edition, new freebie from Shigeto, track titled “This is for y’all”… a fantastic Roy Ayers rework from Simon S, a great track from the British acid jazz band Incognito, titled 1975, taken from their recent summer album on Dome records…  more music from the dj Spinna compilation on BBE records… dubstep music from Klic, SBTRKT and Matt-U… And finally, watch out for the track titled Fanfair Oddysey, Gilles Peterson has been dropping this track a lot lately, happy to finally own a reissue copy, it’s strictly jazz dance business…

I think enough is said, I hope you’ll enjoy this weeks podcast…

Thanks for listening,

Cengiz
